PR Marriott Drilling is a member of the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) and the Well Drillers Association (WDA) and is audited by Achilles on an annual basis for health, safety and quality. The Company has a comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure that all hazards in the work place and potential occurrences detrimental to personnel, continued operations, assets and the environment and their impact of business performance are identified or effectively controlled.

PR Marriott Drilling recognises and accept it's duties as an employer to ensure as far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare at work of all its employees. The Company ensures that objectives set by Senior Management are set out and built around the organisational policy. They also ensure that all reasonably practicable efforts are made to safeguard its visitors, contractors and members of the public, who may be affected by its activities.

The Group observes all relevant statutes, regulations and codes of practice and takes appropriate steps within its authority for the;

  • Provision and maintenance of plant and equipment that is safe and without risks to health;
  • Arrangements for ensuring safety and absence of risks to health in relation to the use, handling, storage and transportation of articles and substances;

To realise these objectives the organisation demonstrates 'continual improvement' in its Health and Safety Management System. Adequate resources are made available to promote and maintain best practice in the industry and the organisation endeavours to prevent any incident that could result in injury, ill health or damage to property.

The detailed policy includes the following elements:

  • Management's responsibility;
  • Employees' responsibilities;
  • Health and safety management system;
  • Risk assessment analysis for all activities;
  • Consultation with all employees;
  • Training to ensure employees are competent to perform work without risk to themselves and others;
  • Reporting and investigation of accidents, near miss incidents and non conformances;
  • Policy publication through circulation to employees, notice boards and induction of employees and visitors;
  • Policy review programme.
  • The PR Marriott Drilling Group employs a dedicated Chartered Health and Safety Professional to manage the health and safety programme within the Group.
